I really liked this book. It did a great job of getting to actual problems only children have AND actually help find solution. ( )

Rosemary is an only child in her family. While growing up, Rosemary tells her parents that she wants a brother or sister because she doesn't like being the only child. When she would play with other kids and their siblings but be upset when they would all leave and go home. Her parents were worried about her, so they allowed her to bring in stray animals. When Rosemary brought in the stray animals so finally felt like she was not an only child anymore. Friends can make you feel like they are your family. ( )

I personally did not like this book. I cannot really put my finger exactly on what I did not like about it, but there's something. In the beginning, Rosemary hates being an only child. She complains and asks her parents to have another child immediately. She is jealous of her friends who have brothers and sisters and she wants a sibling very badly. Then, Rosemary starts bringing home different animals. The animals become her siblings! She understands she is still an only child, but the animals make her feel like she is not one. They give her company and happiness, and that's all that matters. ( )

I LOVED this book. It is something i would recommend to parents with or without and only child. I would recommend to an only child and family. This book gave the main problem only children have and gave a solution to it. I see it as a helpful book especially when you don't have any clues as what to do. ( )
