I have read Twisted Time series and loved it. This is kind of a spin off of that series and it was amazing to see characters from that series. I loved Leo and Brielle. They both have these amazing personalities that are felt throughout the story. I love how protective and caring they are as well as they are both strong and can kick butt. The story is full of action, drama, suspense and some mystery involved with it. This story drew me in and didn't let go. It is extremely well written and all of the characters development is stunning. The descriptions throughout the story are radiant and this allows you to easily picture what is happening throughout the story. I just had to find out what happens and where it is all leading to. Yes, it might have been a little slower at the beginning but it really picks up and once it does it doesn't let go.

It has a great group of support characters that really add a lot to the story and element of it all. They help the story to be more engaging and gives it that little extra. This is a must read and it will not disappoint. ( )

I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as I'd hoped, and I honestly wouldn't have finished it if I hadn't obligated myself to reading it for review.

The synopsis was interesting and drew me in, but the first half of the book read like more of a magical misfits' academy than anything else. Leo and Brielle are both incredibly intriguing characters, but so much focus of the first half was on characters that ultimately had little bearing on the story itself and weren't altogether very interesting, so it was a push to get through.

The story did get better, and the author clearly has an original take on supes, so I've no doubt others will find this series debut to be rather entertaining, but it just wasn't for me.
