Book 6 of the Dogmothers series, a spin off of the Dogfather series. Contemporary romance with grandmother matchmakers and lots of family and many dogs. Can be read as a stand-alone but better as part of the series.
Ayla walked away from her wedding because of a cheating fiancé. She’s recouping in Bitter Bark and working in pet communications, aka, a pet psychic.
Theo Santorini rescued a dog on the way to Bitter Bark to stay while he looks for an engineering job now that’s he out of the Navy.
Both single and having just gotten out of a relationship. What better match for the Dogmothers?
All the feels. This author knows how to pack an emotional punch. Over and over.
Clementine is a scene stealer. She’s a former abused dog fallen in total love with her rescuer. It’s adorable.
Theo falls for Ayla at about the same pace.
“She smiled. “I’ll meet you in the square in an hour.” She looked over his shoulder at the park area behind him. “Be careful out there.”
“In the hotbed of danger that is Bushrod Square?”
“I see picnic tables.” She turned to the dog snout that was inches from hers. “Be a good girl, Clementine. No crying.”
She tapped the dog’s nose, blew Theo a kiss, and climbed out of the car, leaving both of them panting a little.”
