This is the first book about the ceramic glaze called Shino. Shino originated in Japan in the 16th and 17th centuries as a phenomenal glaze. It then disappeared from records for almost 400 years. In the past 25 years, however, the Shino glaze has been revived and further developed by American ceramic artists, and has become the ubiquitous glaze employed by artists throughout the US and around the world.
