Having read previous books by this author I knew that this would be an entertaining book. That being said, I was glad that I had read those previous books because I knew who the characters were that were introduced in this book. The author did a good job of reintroducing them without a new reader being lost but at times I felt it was a little too done and detracted from the story. That could just be me wanting to only read about Adrain aka "Savage" and Laila, though. Strong chemistry between these characters. Their desire and attraction was off the charts. I liked how they fought the pull even if it was a lost cause. I liked how the author incorporated music into the story, especially, as this is ultimately a story about rockstars. I am looking forward to where this goes next and what the characters have in store for them as they fight this undeniable attraction. There were a few things that I was frustrated over but get that it was part of the story but I wish that it didn't have to be. I was frustrated that Adrain had the reputation that he did, especially with his friends, for things that didn't apply to him. Again, I am sure that this happens in real life with celebrities all the time but it left me a little disheartened on his behalf. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

I've tried to like Adrian Savage, the mercurial frontman for Fugitive Summer, while serving as his band's opening act on tour. We're stuck together for three months, after all. And I'm well aware I'm lucky to be here. But it's proved impossible. He's far too rude and dismissive a guy to get along with. And way too good at getting under my skin. In fact, at this point, I think it's fair to say I downright hate his guts.Global thirst trap that he is, though, I'm finding it extremely difficult not to want to jump Savage's bones, despite how much he infuriates me. I hate myself for it. But my body is going rogue on me. It doesn't matter, though. I'm determined to resist him.In fact, what I've decided is that, as long as I'm here and stuck with him, I'm not only going to give Savage the sound tongue lashing nobody else around here has the balls to deliver, I'm going to bring that bad boy to his knees. In this story we have Laila Fitzgerald and Adrian Savage. They’re both singers and work with the same management company. They both find themselves inexplicably drawn to the other. But they both seem to be the type of people who only want what they can’t have. And for Laila and Savage, they seem unattainable to each other, and therefore irresistible to each other. But circumstances occur and Savage cannot be with Laila. So his bright idea is to make her hate him instead, to avoid the temptation of trying to seduce her. That hasn’t worked for very long and to find them selves having one hot night together. But Savage is flabbergasted when she doesn’t return for more. And he can’t figure out why.
These two were something else. This first book lays the foundation of the story and shows that there really is a thin line between love and hate. The second book is much more satisfying. This first book is very frustrating because so many misunderstandings between Savage and Laila that keep them apart. This book ends on a cliffhanger and you have to read the next book to see how it all works out between them.
