Alexander and the Wind-Up Mouse by Leo Lionni is a timeless tale of friendship, longing, and the power of imagination. In this heartwarming story, Alexander, a real mouse, and Willy, a wind-up mouse toy, form an unlikely bond as they navigate the challenges of their respective worlds. Awww mice are so cute!!!! The book did read like Narnia and less like a Children's book though. - At first, while Alexander was friends with Willy, he felt lonely and upset at how much care the little girl gave Willy and not him. But, when the little girl was about to throw Willy away, he realized the little girl didn't care for him the same way he cared for Willy: as a friend. - Alexander wanted what was best for Willy, not use Willy for what was best for himself. Everyone loves Willy the wind-up mouse, while Alexander, the real mouse, is chased away with brooms and imperiled by mousetraps. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be loved and cuddled, thinks Alexander, and he wishes he could be a wind-up mouse, too. In this gentle fable about a real mouse and a mechanical one, Leo Lionni explores the magic of friendship. Originally published in 1969, the Caldecott Honor-winning Alexander and the Wind-Up Mouse is sure to enchant a whole new generation of readers. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
