King of Shadows
What did i just read?
I thought I'd read pretty much every version of this story. I was wrong. How this author managed to make this current with the original characters? My mind is blown. She's and Hades on a phone together?!? What? Both of them still ruling their precious domains... The world-building in this book blew my mind. I'm 10000% on board to find out what happens next.
The steamy interaction between these characters was titillating, to say the least. I wanted to get to the root of Mr Hades. I wanted to understand Persephone and why his mother protected almost like lockdown.
I went and instantly bought the next books, despite having thousands of books on my TBR and having already spent my book money budget for the month. It's that good. If the rest of this author's books are this good, I'm a definite fan.

This trilogy...
I'm pretty sure this trilogy might be the death of me. The suspense, the secrets, the ulterior motivations, and the connection between Persephone and Hades are why I love to read. This is so different than mythology in the typical sense. It is how I imagined the mind games played by the Gods, only this time set to modern times.
The steam in this series is amongst the best that I've ever read. I'm always a sucker for an anti-hero that shows signs of vulnerability. You can't get more anti-hero than the God of the underworld. He is so delicious.
I cannot wait for the conclusion.

I have loved this trilogy something fierce. It was a great addition to the series. The chemistry and steam between Persephone and Hades was the fire.
I did get frustrated at a few parts, mainly Demeter and Poseidon. I wanted those parts of the story fleshed out a tad more. Especially, Demeter and what happens after the debacle with Zeus. It just wants clear. I'm hoping that Zeus's story gives me those answers. Eagerly waiting for July now for that to be released. ( )
