Deze bespreking was geschreven voorLibraryThing lid Weggevers. This a fictionalized memoir of long distance hitchhiking a few decades ago, and a good read. I'm a little older, and I had similar experiences in some of the same places, including the making the same mistakes, and having 'profound' insights. A great bit of nostalgia for aging freaks. Deze bespreking is geschreven door de auteur. Review from The Booklife Prize. A novel that reads like memoir. There are moments of descriptive detail about the landscape that verge on the poetic. The narrator is inspired by "On the Road". The haiku interspersed throughout the text are well-crafted and are a nice touch. The author convincingly re-creates the mindset of a few college athletes of the era. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

I enjoyed reading about Sean and Paul’s adventures.
Paul is traveling to Seattle to visit his grandparents. He tells Sean he plans to hitchhike to Seattle and back through Canada. Sean offers to accompany him.
The set out from Upstate New York. The most interesting part was reading about the different people they meet and the different adventures in each area they got to do.
There were parts of the book I had a hard time getting into but overall enjoyed it. ( )
