This was different! What a way to be introduced to Greek mythology. Smutty as all hell!!! ( )

Re-read 05/2022 holy shit this book is amazing. I was just going skim thru a few scenes and I was sucked back in. Eros is a simpy, emo himbo and I love it!!!! I want MOAR simps! To be fair, Hades fell hard for Persephone and that’s what I want. I want hot, emotionally intelligent mans falling hard and being sweet in every romance!

Okay this was different from Neon Gods and dare I say I enjoyed it more? This had more of a crime syndicate vibe that i can never get enough of. And, really, the 13 (Zeus, Hades, etc…) are like mob families in this retelling but Eros is the mobster after my own heart. More world-building - which I appreciate.

Looking forward to the next in the series - But I’m REALLY interested in Zeus’s book! ( )

Just enough Greek myth inspo, entertaining drama, delightful heat, and fan-fic-ish tropes to tick all the boxes for a really solid read. 10 times out of 10 I'll pick a fantasy/scifi book over a romance one...but I will happily make a detour to stop and read anything in this particular series. ( )

Welcome back to the Dark Olympus series for book 2: Electric Idol!

If you liked Neon Gods then prepare yourself for the story of Persephone's sister, Psyche and her own personal bad boy, Eros, son of Aphrodite.

In Electric Idol, we get to know Persephone's sister Psyche better, we are introduced to a "societal goddess" that knows how to play the game better than pretty much anyone else and uses perfect lighting like a knight would use armor. We are also introduced to Aphrodite's fixer better known as her son, Eros, this is a man that holds no delusions about just how stained both his hands and his soul are thanks to the terrible deeds his carried out on his mother's twisted behalf.

However when she asks for the ultimate sacrifice for a moment of kindness, something awakens inside of Eros that he does not fully understand. Will Eros and Psyche be ready for the consequences of their actions and everything that entails. Will their fake relationship with stand the very real pressures placed upon it or will it die upon Cupid's arrow?

I loved the viciousness of Aphrodite, the sweetness mixed with the shrewdness of Psyche and the roughness mixed with the vulnerability of Eros and getting to know these characters was like going to a brand new place but instantly feeling at home and never wanting to leave. The Dark Olympus series is definitely an auto-buy for me but more than that it is an auto-recommend for me. I have recommended this series to so many people!

This book and its audiobook version brought with them another adventure that was pure bliss to experience. The audiobook was narrated by the same narrators as Neon Gods and at first that concerned me a little bit, however as soon as the book started all fears were cast aside. I was afraid that the characters would sound exactly like they had in the first book but they did not. Listening to Psyche's POV gave you the familiar feeling of Persephone's POV while still being new and refreshing, kind of like meeting sisters. They were similar enough that you could definitely tell they were related but different enough that you knew they were their own person, the narrators gave each of the characters just enough of a change in pitch that it was brilliant and lent a sense of continuity to the book.

THIS BOOK ONCE AGAIN HAS ME WISHING I COULD FORGET WHAT I READ SO I COULD EXPERIENCE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME ALL OVER AGAIN! I CANNOT WAIT TO DIVE INTO BOOK 3: WICKED BEAUTY! ( )
