Her story is told via diary as her memory starts to return. This book was beautifully written. I love how you get your main questions answered way before the book ends, not 10 pages prior. While I did suspect the outcome, I was still surprised when it happened. I even teared up at one point. I’m a Jersey girl myself, so I have a soft spot for books that take place in New Jersey. This isn’t a book I’d normally gravitate toward, but I’m so glad I was able to read it. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

What would you do to remember? What would you give to forget? When Tess Porter agrees to pick up her boyfriend's college pal at the airport on a snowy December night, she has no idea she's about to embark on the most dangerous ride of her life. Two days later, the seventeen-year-old wakes up in a hospital with broken bones, unable to remember how she got there. Her parents are acting strange, and neither James, her boyfriend, nor her best friend, Izzy, has visited. As she struggles to physically recover, Tess wrestles with haunting questions: What happened? Will her memory ever return? And what if she's better off not recalling any of it? "He'll Be Waiting is the next book you won't want to put down ́ŒA one hundred percent winner and has all the elements of a great novel. Heartbreaking, yet satisfying." As for the pros, I really liked the main character and felt very connected to her throughout. Also, this book was very fast paced (for the first 2/3) and I got through it very quickly because I didn't want to stop reading.
However, I found the plot to be very predictable and there weren't any *gasp* surprises. The last 1/3 of the book was also very slow and I feel the conclusion was drawn out longer than necessary.
Overall, I think this book is best for younger teens just getting into the thriller genre. Otherwise, it's a quick read, but not incredibly fulfilling. ( )
