Such a rad book, gives a great history lesson of the best sport in history!Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. Drag Racing in the 1960s by Doug Boyce is an interesting read. I know little to nothing about drag racing, but found the book engaging and the photos were enjoyable.7/10 Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. This is a well-illustrated history of drag racing in the Sixties. A trip down memory lane for us oldsters. a great fun read. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. The “Drag Racing In The 1960s” Car Tech book by Doug Boyce is a great book for anyone interested in the early days of drag racing. The book is a treasure trove of information on the drivers, their machines, the parts builders, tracks and sponsors that helped drag racing become the great sport it still is today. The book is full of great car and track photos from the 1960s. There is one glaring error that stood out though. The Chuck Stolze’s S&S Parts Company speed shop and racing team was based in Falls Church, Va. with another store in Winchester, Va. (run by Larry Strowbridge who raced a S&S sponsored ‘55 Chevy). This book is for someone who knows about the sport the divisions and classifications and knows about cars. The book goes year by year starting in 1961 and ends in 1970. Some of the names were familiar to me, most were not. As with most Car Tech books I have read there is a lot of repetition of text which is distracting. It is a very expensive book. The best thing about this book is there are many pictures in the book to so how the cars progressed through the years.geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
