Onderdeel van de reeks(en)Westward to Home (2)
An education back East is the last thing Miranda Williams wants, but since her stepfather had noted it in his will, her stepsister Delia is determined to see it through. Miranda doesn't want to go East, and she certainly doesn't want to be subjected to more schooling. When neighboring Colorado rancher Jackson O'Neil pays her attention, Miranda sees a way out. But Jackson has his own dreams, dreams of heading to Alaska and striking it rich in gold. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

Miranda is the sister that Delia never even knew existed until recently, and a lot has changed for Miranda. Where once she envisioned herself as the lady of the home, she wonders where she fits in the family as that dream is dashed. While Miranda loves Delia, Miranda is a spoiled and conniving young lady who lets her emotions lead her down some unwise paths. Now, Miranda is expected to go to university but that isn’t what she wants to do. Schoolwork has been the bane of her existence, so she believes book learning is beyond her abilities.
Miranda is befriended by a young woman she meets named Sadie. Many people think Sadie has a negative influence over Miranda. Miranda wants only to marry Jackson and set up a home with him. However, Jackson wants to experience Alaska and hopefully become a wealthy miner. Without letting anyone know of her decision, Miranda runs off to Alaska with the hopes she will find Jackson and convince him to come home.
The Westward to Home series was a fun read with multiple plots and characters that enrich the landscape of the novels. Seeing how Miranda went through tough times and came to understand God’s love for her made the story more special. The themes of reconciliation of broken lives and forgiveness extended frees up the soul of the one who extends it is woven throughout the pages. I hope others will read and enjoy the two books that are currently out. Please note that in both books of the series there are glaring editing mistakes that I hope are corrected in future editions, but don’t let that keep you from enjoying a well-written story. ( )
