starfishian: Atkinson has written books in a variety of genres, settings and topics. Human Croquet reminds me very much of Behind the Scenes; if you liked one, no doubt you will like the other.
Wat een geweldig boek. Je moet er wel je hoofd bijhouden want er zitten flink veel personages in. Vier generaties uit een familie worden beschreven met al hun ups en downs. Er zit ook een hele boel humor in en af en toe heb ik echt hardop moeten lachen. ( )
Wat is er van mij geworden?.... en ik ben van plan binnenkort aan een groot projekt te beginnen - een gedichtensyclus gebaseerd op onze stamboom. Er zal voor iedereen een plaatsje ingeruimd worden - Ada en Albert, Alice en Rachel, Tina Donner en Tessa Blake, zelfs voor de ondergeschikte levens van Monsieur Jean-Paul Armand en Ena Tetley, Minnie Haevis en Mrs Sievewright, want ze hebben allemaal een plek tussen onze takken en wie zal uitmaken wie van hen echt bestaan heeft en wie verzonnen is?
