Ready or not, here I come is a quick read for children in kindergarten- first grade. Emma, Rose, and Lulu were playing hide-and-seek. Then Emmis sister came along and wanted to play. Emma replied with “No” immediately saying she was too young and couldn’t even count to 100. Maggie begged and begged and Emma finally gave in. Maggie was it but she took forever so the girls decided to play “speed-hide-and-seek.” By the time Maggie was done counting so was Emma. They said “ready or not here I come!” at the same time, and sure enough Maggie found them all standing in the kitchen. Maggie tagged them all and shouted, “I win!” This book was a quick, fun read. I think that this would be a good book to show in the classroom because it could be a lesson to the children that just because someone is younger than everyone else doesn’t mean they can’t play too. Everyone needs to play nice together. The girls found that playing all together was better than leaving someone out. Again, the illustrations are very simple but they showed a lot of emotion in the girls faces while playing hide-and-seek. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
