The West of Mesoamerica occupied part of the current states of Colima, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nayarit and Sinaloa. The cultural development in this vast territory responded to multiple geographic particularities and ecological niches such as coastal plains, forests, valleys and lake basins such as Lake Chapala, the largest in the country. The civilizations in the prehispanic West developed cultural aspects that stand out in the Mesoamerican territory. [...] A peculiarity of the cultures of the Mesoamerican West is the development in the elaboration of ornaments and tools in diverse materials, in which the work in marine shell, green stone, obsidian, metals -the oldest of all Mesoamerica- stands out. clay, materials transformed with great mastery, where the diversity of ceramic tile themes that reflect a specific way of conceiving their surroundings and very own ideas stands out. Therefore, the exhibition approaches the subject of sexuality in an objective manner based on Mesoamerican thought, in which the universe manifests its forces in a dual way, thus dividing the world into a set of pairs that complement each other despite being opposites.
