This was a really good, but different kind of book. The author goes from one thing to another, whether its grabbing headlines, or completely changing the subject. Either way, it just flows a lot easier than you would think. I'm sure there is a better word for it, but I haven't really read anything like this before. Enjoyed it tremendously. ( )

2022 book #72. 2022. Culled mainly from newspapers of the time a day-to-day look at America from Jan-April 1945. An interesting look into what life may have been like for my parents who would have been about 19. War news, but also pop culture, crime, even advertisement text. ( )

A kid's book of "facts" of this period from what mayonnaise was popular to what was going on in the war. Just headlines...nothing else. Stopped reading after 100 pages. ( )
