This story started off with a mystery as to where Roger's wife went. In his attempt to find her he travels to Afghanistan. That's when he meets and falls in love with Sophie. That was a bit rushed! The book was just ok for me.

This book was interesting in that it mostly took place in Afghanistan and involved criminal activity and deceit. I did not feel that the characters were well developed and felt no empathy for any of them. ( )

This is usually not something I would pick out read but was happy to receive a review copy from the publisher and LibraryThing. Plot had a lot of moving parts and was well-balanced. Adventurous with some mystery, romance, relationships, and culture.

Roger knew little about the missing person, his wife Jill and what her occupation really was. In Kabul during the war, he found not what he was looking for. This was a great page turner. What a great storyteller! ( )

Review: Nebulous Enemies by Rea Keech. 3.5 05/13/2022

This is an Early Review Book that I received in the mail without requesting. The book was pretty good with minor flaws. The beginning was a little fast and not enough information on the character Jill. It’s like Jill meets Roger and next she moves in and then right away they are married. A short glimpse of Jill and than she takes off and the story keeps Roger and the reader in suspense to where she went. He only knew her and a guy named Lyle White worked together. Jill is not seen again until three fourths of the book is read.

Roger does go looking for Jill who led him overseas. Roger does find out what Jill was messed up in and soon thought she was dead. I take it that Jill is a corrupt person something about laundering money that was also embezzled by Politicians in USA an Afghanistan Fund for contractors to help the people in Kabul.

Than Roger meets Sophie and quickly fell in love and the story goes on with more interesting issues happening in Kabul. The story was good just fast pace on adjusting to the characters to the point of their backgrounds. The author needed more information describing each of the characters and events and happenings through the story. ( )
