Bestselling author Caroline Myss was pondering her next body of work when she witnessed a spontaneous act of generosity. A young man, tattooed and pierced, ran to help an older woman with a bundle of packages at the risk of missing his oncoming bus. That act, coupled with her own experience of receiving a helping hand just when she needed it, got Caroline thinking: What are the long-range consequences that result from even the smallest favors offered to others? What really takes place in the energetic field of life when someone responds to someone else in need? On Invisible Acts of Power, this four-time New York Times bestselling author employs her experience as a renowned medical intuitive to answer these questions, explaining why being of service to another person is not an option-it is a biological necessity. Invisible Acts of Power invites you to learn more about: The seven gifts of generosity and your chakras-how giving to others balances your vital energy system and sustains optimum health Chance meetings: coincidence or synchronicity? How to recognize the Sacred Contracts that they hold, and translate the messages they bring you The electricity of grace-where your currents of prana (life force) intersect Divine intention, and affect every choice you makeAs we move from visible acts, such as caring for a friend, to invisible acts, such as prayer and healing, we act divinely, without desire for credit or reward. Using her own stories and those drawn from her thousands of readers and listeners worldwide, Caroline Myss chronicles the many ways you can create small yet profound miracles, gain a greater sense of spirituality, and transform your life and others' lives in an instant. For more than two decades, internationally renowned pioneer in energy medicine Caroline Myss has been studying how people use their personal power. Through her special brand of spiritual insight and intuition, her popular workshops, and her bestselling books, Myss has helped hundreds of thousands of people meet the lifelong challenge of managing their spiritual energy and improving their lives. Now, in this inspiring new book, Myss expands her message about power in an entirely new spiritual direction. With characteristic originality, she explains how we become channels for divine grace and a conduit for miracles through kind, compassionate, generous actions, or, as she calls them, invisible acts of power. When we act compassionately, without a private agenda or expectation of credit or reward, God works invisibly, anonymously through us. And as we move from visible acts, such as giving a friend a helping hand, to invisible acts, such as prayer and healing, we undergo a profound journey of personal empowerment. The myriad simple but profound ways that people connect to create small miracles, gain a greater sense of spirituality, and transform their own -- and others' -- lives in an instant will inspire you to your own invisible acts of power...and attract them to you.

Caroline Myss, who is a pioneer in energy medicine studies, explains how people could use their personal power in Invisible Acts of Power. Myss spells out how they could manage their spiritual energy, and improve lives by doing small acts of service. By doing little deeds they would become channels of divine grace and conduit of miracles. All these actions require are for people to be kind and generous to others.
They would also receive such gifts when they act compassionately without an agenda, or the expectations of being rewarded for their goodness. For its God who works invisibly through them. Amazingly they would be able to move from the visible to the invisible realms. They accomplish these tasks by giving a friend a helping hand through acts of prayer, healing, and by personal empowerment. These qualities are essential for their emotional, physical, and spiritual health. ( )

Take one part energy centers and mix in a little Chicken Soup for the Soul and you've got Invisible Acts of Power. Carolyne Myss has taken a number of stories from people who have been of service to others or have had their lives changed due to others' service to them and organized them into section that correspond to the seven chakras.

If your belief system does not allow for the existence of energy centers within the body or mystical forces, then you're probably better off staying away from this book. However, if you are more open-minded, this is a good choice for just about everybody. Carolyne Myss takes a little time to introduce each chakra and what type of energy and service will resonate with it, then follows up with some stories involving that particular level of energy, and then usually finishes up with some poignant questions regarding said level of energy.

The most important concepts throughout the book are those of sharing, being of service, and that there is absolutely enough energy in the universe for everybody to be of service to others. We can be supportive and not have to worry that there isn't enough good fortune to go around.

The author also pulls all the information with a style that is easy to follow and makes a point without being dogmatic or preachy. I would definitely recommend this to just about anyone. Truly, just about everybody could use some portion or all of this book, but unfortunately, some will not be open to the information contained within. ( )

From Publishers Weekly:

Bestselling author Myss (Sacred Contracts; Anatomy of the Spirit) began preparing for this book with two small acts of kindness involving simple assistance with literal baggage. They inspired her to muse, "What really takes place when you respond to someone in need?... the action itself, the lifting of a heavy piece of luggage... may be small. But the energy that is channeled through that action is the high-voltage current of grace." The multiplied strength of the aid she received prompted her to explore stories of like kind. Soliciting through her e-newsletter and Web site, she received over 1,200 responses in six days from people all over the world who had either given or provided some form of grace or assistance. After a cogent introduction, Myss organizes these stories around the "seven classic stages of spiritual development," expressed in the body's seven chakras or energy centers. She devotes chapters to gifts of the earth; financial and creative support; self-esteem; the heart; choice; wisdom; and the Spirit. Chapters conclude with questions to aid life assessment and prayers. The multicultural references throughout strengthen this universal, timely message that can be enjoyed and utilized by people everywhere.
