One of my all time favorite books ( ) I had read "Matt Regan's Lady" a number of times before I read this one. Annie figures in MR'sL as a melancholy but strong woman - married to the wrong man, but trying to make the best of life, and not letting Terri make the same mistake. So I looked forward to "Annie Jordan" with a great deal of excitement. The story was really well written - as expected - but I hated the ending. The wages of sin must be paid (especially in 1948), but the price for Annie was 'way too high. I guess the depth to which the ending upset me was a measure of how much I had come to care about Annie and the rest of the characters. Mary Brinker Post was a fine writer, especially about her beloved Seattle. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
