Chronologically this is the second story in Moorcock's Elric Saga. Elric of Melnibone has forsaken his people and his race to become a wanderer and explorer of the far corners of the realm. While our character searches for himself he is dragged deeper into his own twisted heart and the even darker tidings of his highly demanding blade, Stormbringer. Together they conquer dreams, steal souls and tread the by ways of chaos. But there is a catch. While we feel the dark clouds Elric carries on his shoulders getting heavier and the song of Stormbringer dragging him down deeper, we do find that he is capable of Love. Feared by enemies and friends alike, Elric of Melnibone walks a lonely path among the worlds of the multiverse. With an introduction and a short story by Neil Gaiman, and containing complete novels as well as associated short stories, this collection presents Moorcock's greatest creation in a revised and approved order.
