Is it smaller? is a picture book that has no text, besides the title, about comparison. I liked the book for a couple different reasons. I like the book because it allows the teacher and the students to use the pictures to spark their ideas about a plot or information about size. Teachers can develop questions from Bloom’s taxonomy to spark student’s interest in learning more about size. Students can also orally tell stories to the class inspired by these informational pictures and created by their ideas. The text also had an assortment of pictures that identified a variety of different diverse images. For example there are dolls with a range of skin tones and balls with no distinctive patterns. The rest of the photos are pictures like leaves or boats. The theme of this book is that size is relative to what you’re comparing it too. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
