I love this series so much ( )Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. I really liked this book. The thriller is very involving while reading. I can’t wait to read the other books of the Motts series.Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. Purloined Poinsettia is the fourth book in Dahlia Donovan's Motts Cold Case Mysteries. The protagonist in this series is Pineapple "Motts" Mottley, a forty year old autistic woman who grew up in an area of London but currently lives in Polperro, Cornwall. The opening of this book sees her staying with her parents in their London area home due to the circumstances surrounding the earlier books within this series, specifically, the existence of a serial killer who is working his way through all of Motts' classmates from school.
The author has done an excellent job with creating a cast of characters that have a broad range of appeal to many different types of readers. She has also done an excellent job of shining a light on the many challenges that individuals affected by autism are forced to deal with on a daily basis. Through creative plotline development, the author has also found a way to demonstrate that people are only limited by their own actions. This book contains enough of the history behind these characters so that the reader doesn't feel like they've come in the middle of the story. However, after reading this book, I intend to go back and read the rest of the series. I hope this author finds more stories and adventures for this cast of characters in the future. I received a copy of this book from LibraryThing and Hot Tree Publishing and am leaving this review voluntarily. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. I really enjoy a mystery set at Christmas and this book was no exception. The characters are fun and have a lot of history with each other. The mystery is intriguing. This is book four in the series and it would've been helpful had I have read the previous books first, but no less enjoyable. I'd be interested now in going back and starting from the beginning.Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. Pineapple "Motts" Mottley decides to come home for Christmas and spend the holidays with her parents in London. Although she's 40, she's only recently moved out on her own. She describes herself as "autistic, asexual, and biromantic" and was happy to leave behind the noise and family drama for a quieter life in Cornwall. For her visit, she's brought along her cat Cactus and her turtle Moss and expects to spend most of the holidays visiting with her friends and cousins. She's alarmed to notice that a blue car she believes was stalking her in Cornwall has followed her to London. Not long after arriving, her old teacher dies in a suspicious fire. Her friend, DCI Dempsey Byrne is also in the area looking into an alarming series of murders. Nearly all of the girls in Motts's school class have ended up murdered. Only a few remain alive, Motts being one of them. Motts and her friends must figure out who the killer is before time runs out. Motts is an interesting character, definitely different from most other heroines. She is generally at odd with her overly critical mother, but otherwise she is surrounded by helpful and protective friends. This is the fourth book in the series, so I will have to backtrack and read the rest of them! geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
