Misty knows how to captivate her readers! This is a beautiful story of love, healing and adventure. I have loved getting to know the people from the town of Laurent and how they come together. This was a great read and I will be coming back to this series in the future!

I found A Daughter's Courage to be an engaging book that had a great message about not relying on yourself, but to ask for help. Charlotte and Damien meet and get to know each other through many dangerous experiences on the mountains. Both Charlotte and Damien are easy to relate to, and you have a strong desire for them to return safely to the caves that Charlotte is from.
I was given a complementary copy of this book, but was in no way compelled to give it a positive review. All the opinions are my own.

MY THOUGHTS ON A Daughter’s Courage
Charlotte Durand and Damien Levette had no idea anyone else was on the Mountain. Charlotte was on a quick trip and didn’t expect the snow storm and Damien didn’t expect to run upon a half frozen person, and a woman of all things. But it happened, and what a journey it was. And all because Charlotte drops an old treasure into a fire causing so much damage, but she has to fix it. Someway. It’s too important to she and her village. So she heads off to the one place that just maybe someone can fix it. And so the journey begins.

And what a journey it is. When I see a Misty Beller book up for review, I grab it. I know that with her books, there will be heartstopping adventure, with characters that go through so much that I’m actually scared for them. I have stayed up many nights finishing a Beller book, just as I did with this one. A Daughter’s Courage is book three in Brides of Laurent series and I sure hope this is another long series like some of her others. I don’t want to say anything about the story that will give anything away, so if you enjoy a fantastic historical in treacherous mountain conditions, you have to try this book, and really the entire series. If you read one Misty Beller book, you are hooked for life. This one gets Five Stars from me and I wishbi could give it more.

An intricately carved chalice, an accident involving a fire, and a desire to make things right fill the pages of A Daughter’s Courage by Misty M. Beller. Any time I pick up a book by Ms. Beller, I know I am going to find stories filled with faith, family, and overcoming something. This book lived up to my expectations.

Charlotte Durand and Damien Levette’s story continues the Brides of Laurent series. Charlotte accidentally drops a village treasure into the fire causing irreparable damage. So she sets off to a nearby fort to try to find someone to fix it.

Meanwhile Damien Levette comes across her half frozen by a lake. Through various trials including attacks by wolves and more, the two find the self growing closer together. I loved the way the author developed the village of Laurent, the traditions they followed, and how they loved apart from the rest of the world.

One of my favorite characters who winds up the background of this story is Hugh. He is the one Charlotte’s father wishes her to marriage. But God has other plans, but I must say I would love to read a story about him finding the one God had planned for him.

So if you enjoy reading works of Christian historical fiction filled with faith, family, and a challenge to overcome, check out this book for yourself. I definitely recommend it.

Readers who enjoy frontier, man vs. nature romances should definitely put Misty M. Beller on their lists of authors to read. There are always elements of man against nature, as well as vivid descriptions of the landscape.

A Daughter’s Courage features Charlotte Durand, who readers met in the second book, and a Damien Levette, who is a newcomer to the series. Both Charlotte and Damien see themselves as less than others around them, but when they are together, they build each other up well.

I was a tad disappointed that the final book in the Brides of Laurent series about a group of people who lived among a system of caves had very few scenes in said caves, but Damien and Charlotte needed the space to get to know each other’s character, and there’s no way for that to happen than to put them in situations where they have to depend on and trust each other.
