Hij merkt dat de arm die hij moet missen - en waaraan hij af en toe verschrikkelijke fantoomjeuk heeft - hem een soort helderziendheid geeft. Meer... >En als hij zich voorstelt dat hij schildert met die arm, dan krijgen zijn schilderijen een vreemde, onheilspellende macht. Het lijkt wel of Duma Edgars gaven versterkt. Duma is geen idyllisch eiland: het heeft een zwarte historie met wortels die verder teruggaan in de tijd dan je je kunt voorstellen. There are bad accidents, and there are horrible accidents, and horror novelist Stephen King knows about the worst kind. Stephen King’s “Duma Key†ventures to an all-but-uninhabited Florida island where the shells groan at high tide, tennis balls appear unexpectedly, foliage grows ominously quickly, and at least one heron flies upside-down.
