One to be savored and read over and over. Wonderful insights, stories and recipes. Even if you have never read one of Jan Karon's delightful "Mitford" books, you will greatly enjoy this "more than just a cookbook". Lovingly written, with beautiful photos and illustrations, this book offers sustenance for mind, body, and spirit. You will savor the flavor of recipes like "Father Tim's Beef Tenderloin with Mustard Horseradish Sauce", "Cynthia's Deep-Dish Blackberry Pie", "Emma's Green Beans with New Potatoes", and so many more. If, during your reading of the Mitford books, you ever thought, "I wonder what that tastes like?" or "Boy, that sounds really good," or "I wonder if there's a real recipe for that?"... You will love this book. All the foods you remember from the Mitford series and more, plus wonderful anecdotes from Karon on the writing process, food and life in general. This is a beautiful, heart-warming (and stomach-warming) book. I highly recommend it. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
