The setting of Hope Harbor is perfect! The characters are familiar with some new ones introduced. My favorite character is Rose! She reminds me of my grandmother. Strong, compassionate, and full of surprises! Jonathan touched my heart. The love story is sweet and so romantic! A definite must read! ( ) Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. I have always enjoyed reading the stories by Irene Hannon and Hope Harbor. This book did not disappoint. She brings her characters to life in a very nice way. She also has a talent for being descriptive and taking you into the scenery. The editing was well done, which can be devastating to a good story if not well done. The book is Christian genre and shows their faith in a very non-preachy way. I give this book a solid 4 out of 5-star rating. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. This was a sweet novel, but I found it a slow read. In Windswept Way, Irene Hannon returns readers to beloved Hope Harbor with cameos from many memorable characters—Charlie, the good-natured quarrelling and golf-loving minster and priest, and a few more familiar faces—along with new ones. When Ashley moves to Hope Harbor, she’s intent on making Windswept Way, a place some think is haunted, a place for people to come celebrate the special events in their lives. She envisions weddings and parties and more on the grounds of Windswept Way. But to do that, she needs funds and someone capable enough to create her landscape vision. Enter Jon and Rose, and all of their lives are about to change in many ways. This story is about the scars we carry—inside and out. It’s one of letting go of the past to embrace God’s best future. It’s about seeing beyond appearance to the state of the heart and living life to the fullest. Windswept Way is my favorite in this series yet. Disclosure statement: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a positive or negative review. All opinions are my own. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. Windswept Way is the newest in Irene Hannon’s Hope Harbor series. It is always a delight to return to Hope Harbor with Ms. Hannon. It’s great to reunite with favored characters (Charley and the sea gulls, for example). Even with some carry-over characters, this is a stand-alone book and the rest of the series doesn’t have to be read to enjoy this one.The plot revolves around Ashley Scott trying to revamp an old mansion into a new venue to be used for weddings, etc. In order to do this, she enlists the help of Jonathan Gray, a rather reclusive neighbor. As they work on the mansion, romantic sparks begin to fly. I received this book through the LibraryThing’s Early Reader program. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

"Buying a supposedly haunted house wasn't in Ashley Scott's plans, but when an intriguing opportunity drops into her lap, she's ready to launch a new life. But she can't do it alone, and her reclusive new neighbor Jonathan Gray may be just the person to help--if only there were room in his life for romance"-- Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
