This book is more propoganda than anything else. That does not mean it is not intersting or convey a lot of valuable information. It has a very positive on the Marine Corps. Every thing in this book may be and probably is true, but it comes accross as a pep rally for the USMC. The Corps probably deserves all the kudos in this book, but it gives a very biased impression.

Any non-fiction book that talks about the future can become dated. In the fifteen years sinse this was published, administrations and priorities have changed. Programs have been canceled. This volume is somewhat dated.

This is the first non-fiction work by Tom Clancy that I have read. Based on this book, fiction is definately his strength. However, if I come accross more of his non-fiction works, I will read them, but I will be prepared for a tilted view of things. ( )
