Read this book for the concepts and training tips, not the quality of the writing. In fact, the book could probably be entirely diagrams and photos, with no loss of substance. Either way, it's an eye-opener for fitness enthusiasts, bodybuilders, athletes, and anyone paying a ton o' money for a gym membership. The whole crux of the book is that you build great strength by mastering two moves: the one-armed pushup, and the one-legged squat. No equipment needed to develop big gains in functional strength. I read the book months ago, but the ideas stayed with me. Once I trained up to completing the two moves, I started using them as gauges of my overall body condition. It's working out better than I expected. Great book. Lots of helpful photos, too. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Have you noticed-the greater a man's skill, the more he achieves with less? And the skill of strength is no exception. From the ancient days of Greek wrestling, to the jealously guarded secrets of Chinese Kung Fu masters, to the hard men of modern spec ops, warriors and allied strongmen have developed an amazing array of skills for generating inhuman strength. But these skills have been scattered far and wide, held closely secret, or communicated in a piecemeal fashion that has left most of us frustrated and far from reaching our true strength potential. Now, for the first time, Russian strength expert and former Spetsnaz instructor Pavel has gathered many of these devastating techniques into one highly teachable skill set. In The Naked Warrior Pavel reveals exactly what it takes to be super-strong in minimum time-when your body is your only tool. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

Key takeaways:
- Greasing the groove. Instead of training to failure, only do exercises with perfect form. That's why it's called an EXERCISE. Cued me to purchase a pull-up bar, on which I do pull-ups until I tire with perfect form many times a day. Idea is to become strong without going to exhaustion.
- Fundamental calisthenics exercises are the pistol squat and one handed push-up. Book introduces a wide range of exercises to build up to these and to increase difficulty / resistance. ( )
