It won’t end up as one of my fav books in the genre, the premise was very good but the story sort of slipped along the way, but it was an enjoyable read nonetheless. The book is more on the erotica side than the paranormal one and if you’re uncomfortable with scenes of sex between two men and mentions (pretty explicit) of S&M then this book it’s not for you ( )

The Devil Inside hit all my buttons - well, most of them, the main character has a bit of a chip on her shoulder that's annoying. The beginning is exciting in that she's performing an exorcism and gets caught in the bad side of things. She has a pre-warning of exciting things to come. I think the author starts off a bit too swiftly in the bedroom with an existing relationship, but once this is gotten beyond I was completely riveted.

Morgan has tons of emotional scars - the creative society she lives in considers it an honor to volunteer to be a host for a demon (not the Christian demon, of course, but a different form). Once possessed they are usually in life saving or important professions. Morgan disagrees and finds the thought terrifying; in fact, she's been born with a natural ability to exorcise demons. She's employed to rid the bodies of those possessed when a crime has been committed and convicted.

Characters make the story - and the series. There's a bizarre blend of BDSM and S&M that could make some uncomfortable, although I found the way it was written and incorporated into the story interesting. It is not the choice of Morgan herself, but other side characters. The twisted world is dark, demented, and people are brought together with Morgan to fight a large, unseen war.

I was glued from page one and couldn't put it down- the writing style, the characters, the potential for what would come, and of course finding out more about Morgan's visitor Lugh. I went out the next day to seek out the sequels in the store. ( )

I've had this book I think for a year. I even think I tried to read it, but for some reason didn't get into it then. I gobbled it up this time around. I have the next two on request with the library. Can't wait to find out what happens next with Morgan, Lugh, Dominic and Adam. ( )

In a world where demon possession is legal (even encouraged) between consenting parties, Morgan Kingsley is an exorcist who deals with demons who possess unwilling people. It can be an ugly ritual often in death or severe mental damage to the human victim. But Morgan is one of the best. When a demon she has exorcised attempts to possess her and fails, Morgan is surprised but grateful. But she soon discovers that the demon failed because she is already possessed. Oops...

This book was pretty good. The world is interesting and introduced well. I like Morgan. She is a woman who stands by her principals even though some of them may be wrong. She is open to that, sort of. Her boyfriend is the most understanding man alive and you can't help but like him. The demons, well, they are definitely different. I think I can get used to them. I plan to read the next book. This book definitely had more sex than I usually like but it was mostly brief and not enough to keep me from enjoying the story. ( )

I liked the story, but thought the book was not very original (even though one must consider how difficult it is to write an original urban fantasy story). The main character was your typical though-chick and the story was typical. It's not that I didn't like the character and the story, but having read so many urban fantasy books, I'm getting a little tired of though-as-nails and I'm-more-male-than-you female characters.

This book didn't draw me in enough to continue the series and it's definitely not a keeper. ( )
