High Heels, Honey Lips, and White Powder was a little scattered while reading it but the journey that she goes through is both sad and inspiring. Maria endures many tragedies in her life but as she is guided back into her faith she finds peace in her life. This is a great book for those who are looking for inspiration back to God. This is a full transformation book and a good insight for anyone at any point in their life. ( )

My thoughts on High Heels, Honey Lips (third edition) by Rose Maria McCarthy Anding

I enjoyed this story immensely! It was as gripping biographical novel of adversity, recovery, and spiritual awakening/growth. Anding holds no punches as she describes in detail her tumultuous past and her relentless quest for her life purpose, its a raw reflection on Anding's life, where she found herself enticed into a life of glamour, seduction, and the world of narcotics. However, the nature of the book is a message of hope and transformation.

At rock bottom with nowhere to go, Maria stumbles upon a spiritual sanctuary that soon becomes her light at the end of the tunnel (so to speak). Here, she undergoes a spiritual awakening and with hard work and faith manages to shed her past life and find the true self within, guiding her towards her life purpose.

A completely compelling and honest account of one woman's traumatic journey, that stands as a testament to the idea that amongst life's storms, there's always a ray of hope, a chance for renewal and a way to God and the unconditional love that each us crave, whether we want to admit it or not!

It is not often a book can be stamped “brilliant” but this novel meets the criteria! Very highly recommended. ( )
