This book tells a story about moving homes, sharing, and being nice to one another. In schools many children can find themselves moving, having to share toys or supplies, and being told by all the adults, to be nice to their classmates and friends. This book can etach readers lessons that are some of the most important things they will learn in their life. This book teaches these things in a fun, engaging way. This book was a page turner for me, as I read it over and over again, finding new things to love each time. Juanita is one of my favorite authors thus far. ( ) Jamaica was asked by the teacher to share her markers with Russell. She didn’t want to share with him; he never had his supplies. While sharing the markers, Russell decided he was going to annoy Jamaica, he draws with a blue marker all over her picture. She is so upset that she says she will never share her markers with him again. The teacher tells the class that Russell will be moving. Jamaica is happy that she never has to see him again. Everyone in class is making him a goodbye card, but Jamaica doesn’t want to make one. She realizes that maybe he is having a hard time with this move. When he comes in the classroom, he gets all his goodbye letters. Jamaica goes over to him and hands him her blue marker. She figured he was going to need it more than her since he is moving. Her character grows in the book, in the end; she accepts his apology and was the bigger person and gave him her marker and really was going to miss him. Russell's character also grows in this story. He realizes he was wrong for how he acted, and apologies to her. I thought this was a very cute story. Not going to lie, I teared up. Jamaica is offended by Russel when he colors on her picture with her blue marker. She is so upset that she refuses to share her markers with him again. She comes to learn that Russel is moving away and though she's frustrated by him, she realises he must be having a hard time with having to move and change schools. Before he went away, she offers him her blue marker so that he has something he may need when he gets there. In this book the young girl Jamaica has a running in with the class bully. Jamaica was asked by the teacher to share her marker for art with Russell; though she didn't want to she did anyway. As a result of her saying yes Russell decided he was going to bug her and draw all over her picture. Jamaica was very upset but once finding out why Russell act that way geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
