The first thing that came to mind when reading this book was that this was the recommended solution for all the girls that had devoured all of the Louise Rennison books and were anxiously waiting for the next edition. I personally know many of them.

Janet is in that time of her life where everything that can go wrong, does. Spoiled vacation plans, separating parents, best friend in love and not available, and a lousy summer job. Janet decides to start an advice column for the school newspaper. And so the fun begins. The book is written in journal style, which is a favorite among readers today.

Planet Janet in Orbit is the sequel to the first book, Planet Janet; however, this book is a stand-alone success. The humor is almost non-stop and is written in a language that all middle schoolers can identify and appreciate. ( )
