I really liked this book. I really enjoy the audio books in this series. I sometimes get lost in the details at points. I really enjoyed not only the plot but also the characters various paths in this story. It was a much quicker read this time. I loved the focus on tris and also how the mages grew as friends. I did not see the twists towards the end of the book coming. I am excited to start book 3 :) ( )

Continuing on with this series in audiobook form. The performances are quite good, particularly Bruce Coville as Niko.

In the last book, there was an earthquake. Now the four have to deal with pirates while continuing to learn how to use their magic and work together. Tris is a shade less annoying this book than the last, though I fear she will never be my favorite character.

Still middling of the road quality wise, but I'm chugging along so I can get to the later series in this world. ( )

I love any book by Tamora Pierce. This series (Circle of Magic) is good and if it was by any other author I would call it great. However, since I have such high expectations for Tamora Pierce I cannot call it truly wonderful. The characters are where it falls a bit flat for me as the story line I quite like. ( )

Girls will love this book, and boys too. Magic, willful kids, and even a baby bird. How could they resist? ( )
