A tough princess meets her matchâ??a rugged bodyguardâ??in the third book of the royally entertaining series from the New York Timesâ??bestselling author.

When it comes to the wild Kingdom of Alaska, in a reality where Russia never sold the territory to the United States, a Rodinov has always protected the Baranov royal family. And Jeffrey, born and raised to be the next in the long and illustrious line of protectors, is not about to let the tradition fail with him.

But Princess Nicole isn't exactly the easiest charge: an expert at hunting who's sharp as nails, stubborn as a bull, and completely convinced she doesn't need anyone watching her back. Even worse, she's got the most kissable lips Jeffrey has ever seen.

What Nicole really needs is a man with the perfect combination of brains and brawn to show her the royal ropes (and cuffs . . . and scarves . . .). Someone who can make her feel like a queenâ??in bed and out of it. And, after all, taking care of the royal family is exactly what Rodinovs are trained to do . . .

In another sparklingly delightful regal tale from the New York Timesâ??bestselling author of the Undead series, the madcap Baranovs will discover that a princess's heart is much harder to protect than her c

Why read: Finishing up the trilogy

What impressed me: I loved revisiting with the family and all their kooky ways. The Alaskan Royal family series is awesome with alternative history details and great humor, and The Royal Mess absolutely follows the trend.

What disappointed me: The Royal Mess isn't the end of the trilogy as much as a companion novel to the two previous books. It was disappointing to read about a romance between a new couple as opposed to someone already in the family.

Recommended: Yes, but you may want to read the previous two books first to really experience the details. ( )

I really wanted to like this because the premise - Alaska is its own country - was so intriguing. The first book in the series wasn't too bad but with each successive book I kept wondering why I had wasted my money (and/or swap points). The language - both content and delivery - is terrible and totally unrealistic on so many levels. The lack of character development did not help; I found I could really care less about few of them. And, of course, the gratuitous sex. All of which makes me so very glad that the author's contract with the publishing company ran out so there will be no more of these. And if there are I certainly won't be reading them. ( )

Delighfully funny story of "polar" opposites falling in love while dealing with Royal family issues. ( )

The last book in the Alaskan Royals series was possibly the best one yet. The king discovers he has fathered a daughter he knew nothing about, and once he learns of her he tries to force her into the family fold. She turns out to be just as strong-willed and feisty as he is. Throw in a lot of humor and some romance and you have yourself an excellent read. ( )

What a very fast read this book was. I thought this book was a little rushed compared to the other two. I still liked this book, I just think it was a little rushed. Hopefully she keeps the series going since there are more prince's and princesses to write about. ( )
