I had been looking into Novus Spiritus since the first time I read one of Sylvia's books, and this book helped clarify some points for me. All of her books have a lot of humor and heart, and after reading them, I always feel good. This book was no different. Another hit! ( ) Back in the early 1970s, Sylvia Browne started a Gnostic Christian church called Novus Spiritus, and it's grown over the years, though is still fairly small compared to mainline churches. In this book, she lists the 21 tenets of the Gnostic belief, with one per chapter, then writes about how the tenet applied to her own life. It's part autobiography, taking up where her best selling book "Adventures of a Psychic" left off 25 years ago. If you enjoy Sylvia's other books, you'll probably like this one, too, though it wasn't nearly as intriguing as some of her other books have been. I'm one of her fans, so I read everything she writes. But if I'd never heard of her before, this particular book would probably not spur me on to look for more. I rate it a 3. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Onderscheidingen
This enlightening work by renowned psychicSylvia Browne contains the Gnostic tenets of her church, the Society of Novus Spiritus, and is a map of our charts regardless of what spiritual path we follow. It has taken many years of research to put together what at first seems simple tenets to follow, but in going deeper, this book carries within it the very heart of humankind's search for our own spirituality. Sylvia has also included many details from her own personal journey, which she feels is comparable to the quest that each of us follows to find our own God-center. As we travel this road, we can realize that long-forgotten, yet simple and truthful goal of viewing our life on Earth as our path to God. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
