The book offers wonderful illustrations about the different groups of people that lived along the Nile, not just the Egyptians. The authors offers information about each group presented and how the Nile influenced their lives. I think Dr. Millard offers a different way of looking at the Nile River and how different groups in different areas made use of the land around the river. This book would be a useful tool for students who may do a project about the river. I would have preferred if the author followed some sort of chronological order (i.e. earliest to latest civilizations) instead of following the river from Lake Victoria up to Alexandria. By taking a look at the civilizations chronologically it would show students how these groups used the Nile River to grow their civilization, and how these different groups learned from those who came before them. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
