This is the catalogue that accompanies the exhibit "Elizabeth I: Ruler and Legend" at the Newberry Library in Chicago. It's less of a catalogue than a biography of the Queen and a history of her times, illustrated by objects from the exhibit. For example, a mention of the Arundel family in the text was illustrated with a photo of a chair with the family's arms carved on it, but there is no information about the chair as one would expect in an exhibit catalogue. I found this rather disappointing. The book is illustrated with black and white photos and a few color plates of objects in the exhibit. As befits a library exhibit, most of the items are works on paper.
