The book talks about the seasons changing, the Earth's rotation, and the sun. I liked that this book had an experiment in it, so readers can see how the sun (flashlight) effects the rotation of the Earth (foam ball). ( ) This book provides a lot of information about the seasons and why they happen. The book even incorporates an activity that the students can do to get a better understanding of the seasons and why they change. I really thought the activity was a great idea, and I will do it in my classroom. I think it will help the students understand the seasons and they won't be cooped up at their desk all day. I will read the book first to introduce the lesson and then have the students work with a partner to do the activity. This was a great book. The sun shines down on us, giving warmth and light. But did you know that the sun also makes the seasons? As the earth makes one complete rotation around the sun every year, the seasons on the earth change -- from winter to spring to summer to fall and back to winter again. Find out how the light from the sun affects life on the earth for all living things in this look at the only star in our solar system. I was surprised to find out how many college students didn't understand where and why we had seasons. Maybe if they had read this book at a young age it would have been something that stuck with them better than however they had learned. I loved this book and the way it broke down the science behind what the sun does for us in a very easy to understand way. I really think third graders just learning about the solar system and sun would benefit from this book, it even guides you through some experiments that help the students actually see what they are learning in person. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
