It was well written, the characters were down-to-earth so that the reader could relate to their feelings and motives, and it had that touch of Catholicism within its pages. I'm looking forward to reading more of Regina Doman's books! ( ) This was recommended by a friend, at true to her own review, it was a nice, innocent retelling of Snow White and Rose Red. The book is starting to sound a bit dated, but the character building stays strong. Sometimes their innocence got a bit on my nerves, but the pace was good and it really picked up towards the end! This is a great recommendation for teens with strict, religious parents, who want their teen to read something less violent than "Those Hunger Games". There is definite Christian references and the language is kept clean. The violence and drug references are part of the plot, but nothing over PG. This story has always been a favorite of mine. When Im in a reading slump I go back to it and each time I read it its like the first time all over again. I get caught up in the innocence that is not normally found in teen fiction these days and also in the intrigue that is very prominent in the plot of the novel as well. An excellent balance. I wish Ms. Doman would pick up her pen more often! This book is so good! The story is supported by the Catholic faith and can be understood by anyone who doesn't feel like they fit in. It shows the determination of youth to change the world from it's deceptiveness into it's true beauty. The story involves two highschool girls and their adventures, romances, and daring escapes. It is based on the story 'Snow White and Rose Red' by the Grimm Brothers (which is availiable on the website: www.fairytalenovels.com) but I wouldn't read the story until after you finish the book. It is very well written and definitely worth your time. Recommended for ages 12-14 and up. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
