Standing by the beauty that claimed him as a husband in the late stages of her pregnancy was less and less of a hardship as Cam begins to see the real woman, and her strength, beauty and courage only entices him more. Caroline cannot help but fall deeper for the man she chose as a father to her baby and as a husband as he sacrifices to make a living for their young family. When Cam’s life seems to be repeating a past mistake and threats to Caroline and her baby surface they bond even closer, but will it be enough to keep them together or will they both sacrifice their hearts to give the one they love the chance at the future they gave up to be together?

I loved this book and found it the perfect romantic story to end this series. Caroline was not an innocent obviously because of her increasing pregnancy, but her innocence and sweetness made her a genuinely perfect heroine. Cam was sexy, strong, giving and honorable as he accepted the bizarre situation and stayed true to his vow despite the opportunity given to him to forget his indiscretion and live the life he had wanted to claim when he came to Texas in the first place. Take a trip back to Texas when it was still young with this historical romance and fall in love with Cam and Caroline as they begin a new life together.
