( ) This is a clean, pretty funny, engrossing romance with just enough British edge to make it witty. On a wild impulse (definitely not her usual style) British Sadie Nelson takes up handsome Gil McGann’s offer to visit him in Los Angeles. She probably should have known things wouldn’t go as planned when Gil fails to show up at the airport to pick her up. As Sadie starts to settle in on her own one circumstance after another seems to thwart their attempts to get to know each other better, no less achieve “happily ever after.” Then again, maybe that’s OK, because as Sadie spends more and more time with the charming struggling actor (read waiter), Tavis, things don’t seem as clear as they were when she first boarded the plane. Like Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Jennifer Crusie, Matthews has a knack for moving the story along with witty dialog, attractive characters, and enough twists and turns to the romance to keep you wondering. But, yes, there is a happy ending for both the reader and the story line. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Falling in love is never easy. Sadie Nelson ought to know - she's got two men to choose from and neither one is hassle-free. First there's Gill McGann, a Hollywood producer who's flown her from a grey day in London to sun-soaked LA in order to win her heart. He has more to offer Sadie than she could ever have imagined... Then there's gorgeous actor Tavis Jones, whose sense of fun makes Sadie feel immediately at home. But can they ever be more than just good friends? The longer she leaves it, the harder it gets, and Sadie's about to discover that in LA anything can happen... Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
