These people are terrible. All of them. Clinton, Starr, Ginsburg, Tripp, Bleiler, and yes, Lewinsky. There were so many face-palm moments, when I cringed in disbelief at the decisions, actions, and betrayal of so many.

Yet, I know that we're all capable of these same, or similar, actions and our guilt is the same as theirs. We've just been afforded privacy in our ridiculous decisions and have been allowed to live, learn, mature, and move past them. Lewinsky was not allowed this. I'm appalled at how she was treated in this investigation and I feel much compassion toward her.

I sought this book out because I recalled hearing about these events as they occurred, but I was in college at the time and not entirely concerned of the outcome. I wanted to understand the personalities involved and how the events took place. It wasn't a trashy tell-all that I feared, thankfully. The other reviewers who stated that they put it down after the descriptions of Clinton & Lewinsky's liaisons have a skewed view of the book, because it did not linger in this portion of the story. The book moves along fairly quickly and, as a paralegal major, I found the legal proceedings interesting. Overall it was a good read, especially as the story progressed. ( )

This is a very human look at a woman who is very human. Compassionate and readable, this book gives the reader a look inside the scandal. We all have faults, most of our faults are not on display for the whole world to see and judge. Fascinating and devourable. ( )

On a hot summer's day-July 23-in 1973, after an interminable labor in the same San Francisco children's hospital where she herself had been born, Marcia Lewinsky gave birth to her first child, Monica Samille.
