Both stories are set at Christmas, one in England and the other in Scotland. Sweet, well-written stories. ( ) This book has two short stories in it. The first "I Saw Three Ships" is set in Scotland. It is about a young woman who thought the love of her life left her due to status with no good bye or explanation. Years later he has come back and wants to make her his wife, but first he must make up for and explain the past. It is a quick decent read, but the ending just seems to happen with no warning leaving alot to be questioned. The second story is called "A Right Proper Christmas" and it is set in England. A man sets out searching for his place in the world and finds a calling to the ministry. He ends up with nowhere to go in a small town in the middle of winter and is taken in by the Rector and his family. The man is very sick from being out in the weather and as he heals under the care of the Rector's wife and daughters they all find what God led him there for, his calling to the ministry, what Christmas truly is about and love that can not be stopped by social status. The second story is also a good read and doesn't totally leave you wanting more like the first story. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
