This book provides information on the life of knights. However, it uses a clever conceit: The reader's father has been captured and held ransom that he cannot pay. Instead, the reader's father has sent this book to teach his son to become a knight and rescue him when he has learned enough. The book uses the popular pop-up, openable, and removable features that are in many pseudo-informational books lately. This book teaches squiring, jousting, castle design basics, siege warfare, and even mentions some famous knights and legends. This would be a great book to include as a resource for students in studying life in the middle ages.

It was a very good book, full of adventures and excitement. It has a board game in it, which makes it even more fun, and a pop-up every now and then to keep you entertained. A great pop-up, pull-out book. Review by Julia Davidson, 9.
