Peter Golenbock's monument to the Brooklyn Dodgers. He spends some time on the early Dodgers--Casey Stengel, the Daffiness Boys, Pete Reiser and the 40's team. However, most of his attention he lavishes on the Jackie Robinson teams of the late 40's and 50's. Preacher Roe, Don Newcombe, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, Carl Furillo, they're all there. The heartbreak of '50 and '52, the triumph of '55, and the betrayal of '58 are all remembered in loving terms. A great story, well told. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
