This is a great story with a little bit of everything I enjoy in novels... action, horror, romance, paranormal, and more. The story is (somewhat) centered on an occult shop called "The Pragmatic Pagan". By that, I mean that the prominent characters are the shop owners' family members, friends, and patrons. Then, vampire politics direct the action of the story. I found the whole thing imaginative, lively, and entertaining. On the downside, the book's typos were extremely irritating. The author has an aversion to commas, adores run-on sentences, and cannot tell the difference between 'to' and 'too' or 'of' and 'have'. While this detracted from my own reading experience, I still felt the story was well worth my time. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Romance, laughter and gunplay result when siblings, Amy and Paul Reilly, discover that vampires are real and you can haunt your ancient relatives. Add a meddling goddess, witchcraft, and a vampire feud and you have a fast-paced fun read with lots of sex, violence and family loyalty. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

This is probably one of the most, if not the most, original vampire novels to come down the pipeline in a decade.
If you are looking for a simple plot, a typical vampire romance, or good versus evil....you probably won't like it. Romance it has, and vampires, and good, and evil....but there is NOTHING simple about this book.
Yet, it still is...pure pulp. FUN!
I would have given it 5 stars, but for the fact that it has some room for technical improvement by the author, and you can tell it's a "first novel"...I expect very, very good things from her in the future. ( )
