I have been a fan of Ruby's since I lived in London in the mid 80s. Yes, she is in your face, brash and very 'American" but I just loved her style of humor. When I heard her interviewed recently, I had wanted tor read her autobiography - mistake!

It started out OK - she had an awful childhood. Her parents were survivors of the Holocaust and were abusive to eachother and to her. Her story continued, then her breakdown, and just when she was beginning to explain how she got out of her depression came her ripping into her parents visits. About 20 pages of "verbatim" conversations about how awful her parents were to her and her family -- and then the book ended!

Did Ruby not have a editor, or another reader? Very very disappointing! (

A frank account of A troubled childhood .However one is left in some dought as to how much to believe although it has a fast pace and does not hold back it is not as funny as I expected it to be. (
