Maggie Winthrop is surprised to find a naked man banging on her back door, disheveled and dirty, yelling her name. He wants in to talk to her. She wants to call the police. But there is something oddly familiar about him. Eventually she talks to him and finds out his name is Chuck Della Croce, he's from seven years in the future, and he has come back in time to save the world (and unknown to Maggie, her life). Maggie is skeptical and doesn't believe him at first, but how does he know such things---he predicts an air crash, and an earthquake. Chuck claims he wants to prevent evil agents from overthrowing the government (in the future they bomb the White House, kill the president, and it's all Chuck's fault because he built a time-machine that the evil agents used for this political coup.) With Maggie's help, Chuck starts to try to right some wrongs before it's too late. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! This is the first time-travel romance I've read in which the hero actually encounters himself during his time-travel back in time (his younger self from seven years ago---Charles). I had to wonder who Maggie would end up with, Chuck or Charles! It was quite unique and I was curious to see how this was all going to work out. I liked Maggie, she was a strong heroine. I also liked Chuck/Charles. This was a lovely, exciting, and touching read. :) WHile nowhere near the awesomeness of her Troubleshooters series, I found thois one interesting. When Maggie first meets Chuck, he's naked in her back yard, bleeding and begging her to believe he's from the future, come back in time 7 years to stop his old self from inventing time travel. It gets a bit complicated after that (and a bit sappy), but it's exciting and sexy enough. : ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

HTML: Maggie Winthrop doesn't believe in time travel any more than she believes in comic-book heroes or the tooth fairy. So when the naked Navy SEAL man appears in her backyard, saying he's come from the future to prevent a global catastrophe, Maggie doesn't buy itâ??despite the spark of attraction between them. But when the handsome stranger accurately predicts things no one could possibly guess, Maggie starts to doubt everything she knows to be true. Suddenly the pair is thrown into a desperate battle to ward off a future filled with disaster, and second chances for true love come at a very steep price. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

The romance element between the two (three?) of them was very touching. She loved both the future Charles and the present Charles and he loved both of her also. It was fun to see the older Charles tell her things like "Wear this dress. It will distract him. (the younger Charles) Trust me."
A lovely quick read with good emotional elements. ( )
