Despite a rushed ending, I became enthralled with the two characters. That made the book worthwile. ( )

This little book contained all I want or expect from a romance. Nice romantic characters, interesting storyline, some unpredictability. I read it in one sitting. I've said before that romances have lost their connection to reality for me after having my own romance, and this book is no exception, but for what it's worth, I liked it. I really liked the way the hero managed to introduce himself to the heroine, but I found her sudden lack of restraint somewhat unrealistic.

What I didn't like was the author's frequent use of "Lud!" and other words. She was trying for romantic banter, but most of it fell flat. She was compared on the cover to Jo Beverley, but the latter is much better in that respect. ( )
