This volume was compiled by Archibald Alexander, and intended to be a companion volume to The Log College, which has been published by the Banner of Truth We have also added Gilbert Tennent's famous sermon, "The Danger of an Unconverted Ministry". This book contains sermons and essays by Gilbert Tennent on the justice of God, the mercy of God, the grace of God, and the wisdom of God in redemption. There is a 90-page treatise on the doctrine of predestination by Samuel Blair. By John Blair is" Observations on Regeneration" and "An Essay on the Means of Grace". William Tennent, Jr. contributed "God's Sovereignty No Objection to the Sinner's Striving". Robert Smith added "The Principle of Sin and Holiness" and "The Spiritual Conflict". Samuel Finley's contribution was "The Madness of Mankind". Here is a wealth of divinity from some of the finest teachers ever to grace the American scene.
